



FTCI Delhi was previously called TRSHH – Tibetan Refugee Self Help Handicrafts. TRSHH was formed in 1981 as a Tibetan Refugee organization to promote and export of Tibetan carpets and handicrafts. From 1985, TRSHH started working in the Fair Trade circles. In 2006, TRSHH was transformed to FTCI Delhi as it became a part of the Federation of Tibetan Cooperatives in India Limited (www.ftci.co.in). Today, FTCI Delhi acts as the export arm of the Federation with a vision to be an ethical, fair and responsible fair trade supplier of cotton canvas bags, Jewelry, Fashion accessories, Tibetan ritual items, Agro & Food products and other contemporary goods, to make positive endeavors towards the preservation of rich Tibetan arts, culture and tradition and to make a positive change in the lives of the multitude of marginalized craftsmen, artisans, workers and farmers. As part of bigger federation, FTCI Delhi, directly or indirectly, brings benefits to 30,000 share members & 62,570 Tibetan refugee families who are members of 15 cooperatives in different parts of India, by acting as a bridge for exports for their produce or by charity funding for the Rehabilitation, Health, Culture, Education and other Welfare & Development activities of the Tibetan Refugee in India FTCI is working on Fair Trade Principles and beside sustainability of our producer groups, grass root level workers, artisans, and farmers in the supply chain, we are committed to cause of survival and sustainability of thousands of Tibetan refugees in India. |
